DIVE PACKAGE INCLUDES

FACILITIES
Resort: Sipadan-Mabul Resort is located at the southern-tip of Pulau Mabul overlooking Sipadan Island.
Type of accommodation – a land base resort has twenty-two (22) units standalone chalets also categorized as detached (16 units twin-bed and 6 units double bed)(build up size 22X28ft) which could accommodate 44 guests at any one time. All the chalets are made from native materials of Borneo, built with own balcony with mosquito screen, attached private shower/toilet and hot shower facilities, the comfort of air-conditioning, which are available for 24 hours, selected satellite TV channels, minibar and in-room safety box. Electrical outlet is 220 Volt AC.
- A vinyl swimming pool measuring 41 ft X 21 ft with a 6 ft deep end.
- Coconut drink, carbonated soft drinks, beer and wine can be purchased at the bar. A small sundry shop sell a range of T-Shirts, toiletries and souvenirs etc.
- An office takes care of the registration and billing; it is equipped with a Mobile Telephone for communications with the mainland.
- Our 230-member staff awaits to make your dive holiday safe, easy and fun.
- WIFI internet access available in the room.
Kindly be informed that our dining hall at Land Base Resort is closed. All meals will be served at our Water Bungalow restaurant. Guests can slowly walk from the land resort’s jetty and enjoy the view (distance is around 10 minutes) or can request a buggy to pick up, but the buggy will usually take some time. Normally it is every hour. You can wait at the buggy station. The team will inform you where it is located after you have checked in to the resort.

CONDITIONS FOR DIVING
- All divers must produce proof of certification by an internationally recognised Diving Agency upon arrival before participates in any diving activity. Divers who have not dived in the last 12 months or if they exhibit uncertainly in their skills may be required, at the sole discretion of SMART to do a Scuba Refresher Course.
- All guests will be required to sign a “Liability Release (Waiver)” and “Express Assumption of Risk” form upon arrival. No diving or snorkelling activities will be permitted until the above said form is signed and witnessed.
NOTICE OF ENTRY PERMIT & DIVING AT SIPADAN ISLAND – NEW RULES
(Effective from 1st January 2025)
Please be informed that all guests need to obtain an entry permit daily to dive or visit Sipadan Island and it will be subject to approval by the Sabah Parks Management, which is in control of issuing the entry permit.
The total number of divers or visitors allowed to visit Sipadan Island is restricted to 240 people per day.
Our resort has been allocated 6 quotas each day out of the 240 people. Due to these limited quotas, we will not be able to guarantee the diving at Sipadan Island. BUT you may have the option to purchase permit.
We will outsource the permit for you. The extra charge for the entry permit is RM 889 Net per person per day including park conservation fee and diving permit. This purchase is to be paid in advance, before your arrival to the resort.
Each diver can only do 2 boat dives a day and must be a certified Advanced Open Water Diver.
Please note this is first come first serve basis. During peak season, priority will be given to divers.
We will not be held responsible for not being able to provide a trip to Sipadan Island due to the conservation measures by the Government.
However, should the entry permit to Sipadan Island not be approved, we can offer alternative trips to nearby islands such as Kapalai, Mabul, Sibuan, Boheydulang and Matanbuan Island where there are no restrictions on these islands. You may arrange this trip with our dive team in the resort.
If you need an additional day to Sipadan, you may check with our dive team when you arrive at the resort, if any day trip to Sipadan is available to book. If it is available to book, the extra charge for the entry permit is RM 889 Net per person per day including park conservation fee and diving permit. This purchase is to be paid in advance.
